Ardmore Institute of Health Hosts Thought Leaders at Edible Ed
The Ardmore Institute of Health (AIH) and Full Plate Living (FPL) staff recently hosted an informal culinary medicine and teaching kitchens event in Orlando at the Emeril Lagasse Foundation Kitchen House & Culinary Garden (Edible Ed). The guest list included over 35 like-minded individuals of diverse expertise in healthcare with particular interest in culinary medicine, lifestyle medicine, whole person health and diversity and inclusion. University and health systems were represented including attendees from Emory, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Loma Linda, Advent Health, Adventist Health, Boston’s Mass General, Florida Public Health, American College of Lifestyle Medicine, Element Health and 4Roots. The casual event was centered around a healthy, whole food tasting menu in a non-profit urban farm and teaching kitchen setting. The purpose of the evening was to spark conversations between thought leaders influencing next generation physicians and patient care. AIH’s CEO, Dr. Ron Stout stated, “AIH seeks to facilitate collaboration and reapplication of lifestyle medicine and whole person care innovations. The intent of the event was to introduce individuals working in this space to each other and set the stage for future convening and roadmapping.”
The mission of AIH is to support advancement in science and resources so that a future exists where healthy lifestyles are the preferred method to prevent, treat and reverse chronic disease.
