Can Pickleball Help You Live Longer?

Pickleball incorporates community and physical activity, two lifestyle characteristics common to health and longevity Blue Zones around the world. Blue Zones as defined by the National Geographic article, “The Secrets to Living Longer” are areas where people live significantly longer than the surrounding populations. 

Ernie Medina Jr. faculty at the School of Public Health at Loma Linda University became interested in Pickleball and started inviting people to play. Soon Don Sease, Director of the University wellness center took notice and commented “I have never seen that kind of interest in any of our activities from such a wide range of people from the seniors to kids.”
