Ardmore Institute of Health Welcomes Dr. Stephen Dahmer to its Board of Trustees
Ardmore Institute of Health (AIH) is proud to welcome Dr. Stephen Dahmer to its Board of Trustees.
“We are delighted to welcome Dr. Stephen Dahmer to the AIH Board,” says Dr. Ron Stout, President and CEO of AIH. “His extensive experience and deep understanding of Whole Person Care will be invaluable as we continue to work towards a future where healthy environments and lifestyles provide equitable and preferred methods to prevent, treat, and reverse chronic diseases.”
Stephen Dahmer, MD, is director of the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine and Assistant Dean for Wellness at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson, where he also leads the Division of Integrative Medicine and serves as associate professor. A father, family physician, chief medical officer, patient advocate, and author, Dr. Dahmer spearheads Banner Health’s first integrative health clinic in Tucson, embedding Whole Person Care within a major health-system framework.
His leadership resume spans founding primary care physician of Sana Care, lead physician at Iora Health, chief medical officer at Resurgent Biosciences and Goodness Growth Holdings/Vireo Health, and chair of the U.S. Cannabis Council’s medicine and research subcommittee. He co-authored the Palau Primary Health Care Manual and champions the credo that “food is medicine,” a philosophy underpinning his community-oriented efforts to prevent and reverse chronic disease. Now joining the AIH Board of Trustees, Dr. Dahmer brings a clear-eyed vision for equitable, evidence-based pathways to lasting well-being.
“It is a tremendous honor to join AIH at a moment when healing-oriented, evidence-based lifestyle and integrative medicine are moving to the forefront of modern healthcare,” says Dr. Dahmer. “By uniting rigorous research, plant-predominant nutrition, and the training of tomorrow’s clinicians, we are well positioned to make whole-person health the standard of care.”
