National Employee Wellness Month: Improve Employee Well-being with Full Plate Living
June is National Employee Wellness Month, which provides an opportunity for employers and organizations to enhance their wellness programs and improve employee well-being.
Discover how Amy Daniel, as a Doctoral Nursing Student at Northern Illinois University, successfully utilized Full Plate Living to support government employees of DeKalb County.
With grant support from AIH, Amy Daniel led an 8-week teaching kitchen program that incorporated Full Plate Living to increase daily fiber intake among employees. After the program, 100% of participants expressed interest in participating again, and 93% of participants reported increased daily fiber intake. Click here to read the full study.
Full Plate Living is a research-based, experience-centered nutrition program offered free of cost by AIH. The Full Plate approach has supported hundreds of thousands of people to add more whole, unprocessed fiber foods (fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes) to their meals. Full Plate Living promotes achievable and sustainable lifestyle changes that can result in significant health benefits for employees and reduce the risk of chronic disease.
In the words of a Full Plate Living Member and Facilitator, “Phenomenal program! As a certified health education specialist and certified personal trainer, I have come across many diets and healthy eating programs that claim to work miracles, but don’t live up to the hype for my clients. The Full Plate Living program is the simplest and most effective nutrition concept I have come across in my career. I actively apply the Full Plate Living program to my own life and it’s been a game changer for my energy!”
