Free Curriculum Available from UC Irvine: Plant Predominant Dietary Patterns in Perinatal Care

Researchers and health educators at the University of California, Irvine have developed a free, self-paced, online curriculum to support healthcare providers – especially those who care for pregnant women – with the tools and education to confidently counsel patients about plant-predominant dietary patterns during the perinatal period.

The seven-module course emphasizes evidence-based practices and explores the foundational principles of nutrition science, maternal nutrition, and the benefits and challenges of implementing plant-predominant dietary patterns for patients in the perinatal period.

After completing the course, healthcare providers will be better prepared to support optimal maternal and fetal health outcomes, ultimately fostering healthier futures for families.
